Marie-Josée Paquette received a bachelor’s degree from the Université du Québec en Outaouais with a major in communications and a minor in political science. After graduating, she went on to hold various positions in provincial and federal ministerial offices.

She joined the cooperative and mutual movement in 2009, landing at the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la mutualité. Her first role was as Senior Advisor, Communications and Government Relations, before being  promoted to Director, Communications and Public Affairs.

Marie-Josée also served as Executive Director of the Office of the President of the International Co‑operative Alliance and sat on the board of directors of TIESS (Territoires innovants en économie sociale et solidaire).

During her time with the cooperative and mutual movement, she has contributed to the signing of key agreements, the creation of meaningful projects and the international promotion of Quebec cooperatives and mutuals.
